Admissions Arrangements

Academy places are likely to be much sought after, so advance information about admissions arrangements has been prepared and is now available by clicking here.

Building work on the brand new state of the art £30 million school is underway. The building work will start on the Tennis Courts adjacent to Primrose Hill Street. Additionally, there will be an ‘enterprise and innovation’ centre just across the road, adjacent to City College. Most of the Academy will be sited on the current Tennis Courts with a new entrance from Primrose Hill Street.

Current plans include a state of the art Media centre, enhanced Sports facilities and a car park for staff and visitors. The new buildings should open in September 2011. Meanwhile, the existing School will gain the status of Academy from September 2010.

Mrs. Wendy Tomes is the Principal of the Academy. She is now working on plans for the academy and managing the changeover alongside the existing Head of the school, Mr. Brian Worrall.

Academies are technically independent schools. At the same time Sidney Stringer Academy has the advantage of a balance of public and private sector sponsors.
