+++++++++++++ Our School Sidney Stringer is located in the heart of Coventry, an ethnically diverse city with a wide mix of cultures. The school serves the communities of Hillfields and Foleshill, as well as drawing students from around the city. Sidney Stringer Academy is currently being designed and built. £30 million will provide a brand new school into which current students will move in 2011. Mrs. Wendy Tomes has been appointed Principal, Miss Claire Turpin Senior Vice Principal and Mrs. Victoria Grosvenor Vice Principal. More details can be found on the Academy website. Spring Term Tuesday 30^th March will be Progress Day on which all pupils should attend with an adult from home to discuss their individual progress and set targets for the term ahead. There will be a teacher training day on Monday 8^th March. Term then finishes at the end of the day on Thursday 1^st April. Academy News The Sidney Stringer Academy now has a new website on which you can see the latest webcam pictures of the building as it develops. Information about the Academy Uniform and Vertical tutoring and admissions arrangements are all available on the Academy website. OFSTED: Sidney Stringer is Outstanding! OFSTED visited Sidney Stringer in October to evaluate the school with a particular focus on Creativity in the curriculum. Their letter gives detailed feedback, including description of many aspects of the school as “outstanding”, in addition to thanking the contribution of all those who helped to meet the inspector and contributed to this outcome.
